With climate change and the growing concern about protecting our clean water supply, it seemed like summer was the perfect time to explore hydroponics. The benefits of hydroponics with increased crop yield, all while needing less space and less water, are undeniable, especially in areas such as Florida where the heat alone makes it difficult to grow most crops. So, this summer I took on the challenge to design and build my own hydroponic system for gardening. Although there are so many designs out there, I wanted to make one that would be fully transportable. The goal: to make one I could then take apart and bring anywhere to teach others about hydroponics. Check out the photos!
